Magnificent
Listed Château built in the late 14th century on
the site of an 11th century fortress, of which still remain
a chapel, a keep and the moats, this castle. Altered in
the 16th centurt and 18th century, is a stopping place
on the way to Santiago de Compostela. The Black Prince
stayed there in 1362, and so did François I in
1519. The marquis of Carabas, one of its owners, earned
it the name of the Château du” Chat Botté”
(Puss in boots castle). The flamboyant Gothic north wall
is decked out with a wonderful phantasmagorical décor.
Its large Facade, sculpted during the 15th century, is
of exceptional quality and shows the welcome given to
the Compostelan Pilgrims and several Medieval Legends.
The Château de Crazannes is entirely restored and
sumptuously furnished
